Loutjie Campher started breeding Charolais in 2016, and his stud has produced two champions at the Charolais Champion of the World competitio­n.

He focuses on breeding efficient female animals that can raise calves successful­ly.

Campher runs a single breeding season. The calves are born in winter, when parasites are less active, and weaned in April, when feed is plentiful.
