Lucasdam and CJ Coetzee Dorper Production Sale

Postmasbur­g – The Lucasdam and CJ Coetzee Dorper Production Sale was held on the farm Lucasdam on 25 February. The highest price of the day was paid for a ram, which was sold by John Daniel of Postmasbur­g to Burger Schreuder of Upington for R25 000. Stud rams achieved an average price of R11 528,57, while flock rams were sold for an average price of R8 529,41.

The second-highest price was paid for a White Dorper ram, which was sold by Jaco Coetzee of Groblersho­op to Rianus de Klerk of Kuruman for R20 000. Stud White Dorper rams were sold for an average price of R11 833,33, while flock White Dorper rams achieved an average price of R7 750.

Ewes were sold for an average price of R3 633,33, while ewes with lambs were sold for an average price of R6 111,11.

The sale was held by Noordkaap Livestock Co-op (Vryburg), with Theuns Visser as the auctioneer.
