Liberty rewards excellence

Radio practitioners are honoured as drivers of the most far-reaching form of media in SA

Financial Mail - - CROSSWORD 2015 -

Liberty congratulates all the winners of the 2018 Liberty Radio Awards. The winners demonstrated their continued efforts to create and produce compelling radio, a display of excellence and consis- tent standards across the various radio stations — public broadcasting services, campus stations, community stations and commercial stations.

Killy Bacela, divisional director of group brand and marketing at Liberty, says: “The awards bear testament to the fact that creating excellent radio is imperative in SA, where radio is still the most farreaching form of media.

“It remains an educational medium and a form of entertainment for all South Africans. By celebrating the radio influencers who continue to put knowledge into action through storytelling, education, information sharing and entertainment, the bar in 2018 was raised once again.

“These high standards in radio are not only driven by excellent communicators but also through partnerships which enable them and, as such, Liberty is proud to play its part.

“As a partner to the Radio Awards, Liberty endeavours to act as a catalyst to those who strive to make compelling radio. Information is the currency of the 21st century, and at Liberty we appreciate and thank every individual who made the people of SA rich in knowledge.

“Through this, lives are transformed every day — a purpose we at Liberty strive for through our continued demonstration of making financial freedom possible,” says Bacela.
