Nhlanhla Nene wasn’t just any cabinet minister; he was “Mr No” — the man standing between the public purse and the wanton disbursement of public funds.

Oscar Pistorius was a world-class runner and we were proud of him. When he shot his girlfriend it changed everything — his beautiful history in athletics became null and void. The same thing is happening to Nene. He must face the consequences.

The Zuma years cost SA an absolute fortune in terms of lost growth, taxes and jobs, a new report estimates.

And who do we have to thank? The ANC who elected him and protected him and joined him in the looting. The cost of Cyril Ramaphosa is twice as much in his few months. Whoever is making these calculations should do them for all SA’S presidents, especially pre-1994. Let’s calculate the benefit and cost per president. Zuma was president in 2010 when the World Cup was hosted. The revenue generated there could sweep the so-called losses under the carpet.

It’s great that these reports are coming out, but can they be interesting without intent? Their whole point is to make Zuma look worse. However, I believe these reports have the potential to teach us rather than remind us of presumed corrupt leaders. Give us more.

I can’t
