74.7% of youth (aged 15-24) in SA are unemployed

According to the expanded definition of joblessness, this takes youth unemployment to a record high in the first quarter of 2021 32.4% of young people are not in employment, education or training

SA’s jobless rate, using the expanded definition of unemployment, which includes discouraged job seekers (of all ages), is 43.2%, up from 42.6%

32.6% is SA’s official unemployment rate, up from 32.5% in the fourth quarter of 2020
