How to do it...

STEP ONE Soak the jars in warm, soapy water

until the labels are soft. Use a pot scourer to gently scrub off the labels. For more stubborn labels, boil the jars

for 5 minutes before scrubbing to loosen the label glue. Cover a work surface with the brown craft paper/ newspaper and spray-paint the lids, dry leaves and toy bugs with a fine and even mist of the black spray paint,

holding the can 30cm from the products. Repeat this step should more than one coat of paint be needed.

Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step. STEP TWO

Working on the insides of the lids, glue the twigs in place using the hot glue gun, gently pressing them into the glue for 1 – 2 minutes to ensure proper adhesion, then leave to dry thoroughly. Trim the twigs to fit inside the bottles and use the spray paint to spritz a few for an eerie look. Next, arrange the pebbles and moss around the twigs and glue them in place, leaving a clean border of about 1cm around the rims of the lids. Set aside until needed.
