Skip the mall and do your fes­tive shop­ping in a beau­ti­ful Winelands set­ting at Gabriël­skloof wine es­tate’s Favourite Things Mar­ket. Ex­pect 45 hand­picked stalls, with a fo­cus on unique hand­made and col­lectable gifts rang­ing from baked treats to ex­quis­ite jew­ellery and home­knits. Not to men­tion the es­tate’s fab­u­lous wine and food of­fer­ings! What could be bet­ter than Christ­mas shop­ping with a glass of vino in hand? En­trance is free of charge.

14 – 30 DE­CEM­BER DUR­BAN

The Dur­ban Botanic Gar­dens will be trans­formed into an il­lu­mi­nat­ing dis­play dur­ing this year’s Trail of Lights show­case.

This feel-good fam­ily event is aimed at sup­port­ing KZN-based char­i­ties (which will also be on-site to raise funds for their re­spec­tive causes). There will be a host of fun ac­tiv­i­ties and en­ter­tain­ment, as well as a food gar­den that will of­fer a va­ri­ety of de­li­cious fare.

Tick­ets are R50 pp via webtick­ets.co.za or

R70 pp at the en­trance (note: only a lim­ited amount of tick­ets will be avail­able for pur­chase each day). Pro­ceeds from the ticket sales will go to­wards the up­keep of the gar­dens for fu­ture gen­er­a­tions to en­joy. Visit trailoflights.co.za for more in­for­ma­tion.
