• SMART COOKIE Add 1 tsp finely ground long pep­per to your favourite short­bread cookie dough for a kick. LET’S SALSA Com­bine 1 chopped pre­served lemon with 1 peeled and chopped gar­lic clove, a hand­ful each chopped fresh pars­ley and mint, 60ml (¼ cup) olive oil, 3 ground long pep­pers and salt, to taste. Serve over grilled steak – the flavour com­bi­na­tion will tan­ta­lise your taste buds!

SPICE IT UP Tuck into a dessert with a twist by sprin­kling fresh straw­ber­ries with freshly ground long pep­per – it’s kind on the waist yet packed with flavour. RUB IT IN When com­pil­ing your next cheese­board, grind 4 long pep­pers with a large pinch of salt un­til fine. Roll a 200g log of goat’s cheese in the spice mix and driz­zle with olive oil. Serve with loads of crack­ers.
