George Herald - Auto Dealer - - News -

Driving in the vicinity of heavy vehicles exposes the driver to numerous additional risk factors.

The first is the large blind areas beside the heavy vehicle, especially to the left. Avoid these where possible, particularly when the vehicle is turning.

Something else to keep an eye out for is objects that have become lodged between the tyres of trucks with double wheels.

When you follow a truck, check the spaces between its rear wheels for such objects.

If you see something stuck between two tyres, keep a safe distance in case it flies out towards you.
