Our men and women in blue participat­ed in a joint crime prevention operation in George and Knysna on Tuesday 13 February. Operation Lockdown took place on Tuesday morning at 05:00 at the Garden Route Mall, on the N2, in Pacaltsdor­p, Thembaleth­u and the George CBD after which it was continued in Knysna. According to Chief Traffic Officer Quinton Williams, 431 vehicles were stopped and fines worth R126 300 were issued. A total of 17 vehicles were impounded.
