An office park of almost 6 000m2 is being developed between the Garden Route Mall and the office of the South African Revenue Services. Ground works have already started.

According to Loot Steyn, a director of the developing company Rainbow Place Properties 29 (Pty) Ltd, the first office block of 961m2 should be ready for occupation in February next year. It will have a basement for parking, a ground floor and first floor. It is the first of six blocks that will eventually arise on the property under the name of Eden Office Park.

"We are building according to the demand and there is now definitely a significant need for A grade office space. There are three options: We will build some of the blocks ourselves to rent out, or interested buyers can acquire the land and build their own office block, or we can do the building work for them," said Steyn.

Each of the six blocks will be approximately 1 000m2 in size. Sectional title ownership is offered.

Steyn and one of the other Rainbow Place Properties directors, Chris Roodt, were also partners in the Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre development which was sold in 2016 to Accelerate Property Fund, a real estate investment fund. Expansion to the lifestyle centre is ongoing, with the latest addition being Patio Warehouse, which is being built on Knysna Road opposite the Town Lodge.
