-

Dr Olge Scholtz will be joining the private practice of

Drs Johannes Fourie and Peter Swanepoel and will take over the practice of Dr Maria Henning, who emigrated to New Zealand at the end of June.

Dr Scholtz was born in 1971 in Phalaborwa, a small minetown in Limpopo. She was the third of four children. She spent most of her weekends and holidays on her grandfather's "Bosveldplaas", close to Hoedspruit. The extended family still meets up there once a year for quality time. Her love for nature and people was born and established there and she describes her childhood years as happy, carefree and secure. Her family moved to Stellenbosch in her Grade 11 year and she completed matric at Bloemhof Girls' High School in 1989.

She completed her tertiary education (pre- and postgraduate) at the medical school of the University of Stellenbosch. She obtained her medical degree in 1996 and her specialist degree, through the Royal College of Psychiatrists of South Africa, in 2004.

She married her husband, John Levey, in 1999. He grew up in Sedgefield and introduced her to the beautiful Southern Cape. They have lived in George since 2005 and have two children, Johnny (10) and Rozi (3).

Dr Scholtz held the position of senior specialist in the Department of Psychiatry at George Provincial Hospital at the time of her leaving at the end of June. She thanks her colleagues for the beautiful memories and relationships that they have built together over the past 12 years. "I have learned so much from each member of our team and management. I am privileged and blessed to have shared my journey with such quality people. They will always be family to me."

She is very excited to start in the private sector from 16 July. Address: Mediclinic George, Neuroclinic
