Albert Frost

will wake up his fans

-

For the past two decades, the energetic performances of Sama award-winning guitarist / singer Albert Frost have captured audiences worldwide. On Friday 20 July, this versatile musician will be jazzing up the stage in George in one of his last live performances this year. The audience can expect a set of diverse material based around his blues background, breaking away from the stricter blues form to venture into the wider soundscapes of African and psychedelic feels, meshed into a world blues rock flavour.

Dubbed the South African Hendrix, Frost deftly alternates between rhythm and lead, showcasing his extraordinary skills on the acoustic and electric guitars. His background as composer / performer ranges from blues and rock to world music and jazz. Frost's Sama award-winning album The Wake Up was released in 2016. The two years since have seen this trio grow new material seamlessly into a set comprised of Frost's vast experience. He took home his first Sama last year with The Wake Up, which won the award for 'Best Rock Album'. The album successfully explored a departure from Frost's blues roots, showcasing various musical avenues and lyrical content from the get-go with debut single Tonight, which surprised and excited fans.

This will be the last time this year you will be able to catch Albert Frost live with his band. Albert will perform at the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre at 20:00 on

20 July. Tickets are obtainable from Computicket at R120 per person.
