Quick action by George’s men in blue resulted in a car being tracked down within 12 hours after being stolen. A blue Toyota Conquest was stolen from the parking lot of a rental car company at the George airport on Thursday evening. According to the owner of the car, who prefers to stay anonymous, CCTV footage shows how a vehicle enters the airport’s boom gate at approximat­ely 23:45. The car then drives to a spot where one person gets out. The suspect rushes directly to the Conquest, breaks into it and the two vehicles leave the airport bumper to bumper. Police arrested the suspected car thief in the Kaaimans Pass at approximat­ely 11:00 the next morning.
