Eskom supports AOD outreach
Eskom's Social & Economic Development Department recently donated R335 160 to the Allen Ornan David (AOD) Foundation located at the Apostolic Faith Mission Church (AFM) in Pacaltsdorp, George. The foundation financed the upgrading of the computer training centre with the installation of 12 computer cubicle stations equipped with desktop computers as well as a server connection.
The AOD Foundation was founded in October 2015 to provide counselling for drug and alcohol addicts and their families, as well as accredited computer training for youths and unemployed members of the community. The foundation also runs a clothes bank for the poor and aged, a knitting programme for the aged and a soup kitchen providing soup to the aged and destitute people of the community.
The donation also made provision to purchase various kitchen appliances and utensils for the soup kitchen. Eskom's
Liz Dekker says that this is an outreach project with a broad spectrum impact on the Pacaltsdorp community. "It warms my heart to see how Eskom's intervention is contributing to touching the lives of our people in a positive, uplifting way," said Dekker.
