Dine With a Local bookings open at George Tourism

-

Dine With a Local bookings are now officially open at the George Tourism office in York Street and hosts are ready to welcome us into their homes. Taste true South African hospitality, culture and talent by sharing a meal with locals and enjoying neighbourhood artists, singers, poets or dancers, making every visit authentic and one of a kind.

Tables include African, Cape Malay, Khoi and Afrikaans cultures and experiences. Dine With a Local is typically a two-hour evening of dinner and entertainment from 19:00 to 21:00, or a Sunday afternoon lunch. The hosts are situated in Pacaltsdorp and Thembalethu and have a rich history to share from within these previously disadvantaged areas.

The cost, including transport from George to the host's home, is R450 per person. If you use your own transport the cost is R400 per person. Bookings are taken for eight or more people. Dine with a Local is offering George businesses an excellent End of Year launch special, at R250 per person (own transport) - which lends us Georgians opportunities to enjoy this unique cultural experience affordably and do something completely different and new.

Dining with locals is a hugely popular trend worldwide. It offers the opportunity to eat good food, but also to be immersed in a family, home and culture that is totally different from your own.
