Glamour at S Cape Awards

It was all glamour at the third annual Southern Cape Gospel Awards which took place on Saturday 27 October at the George Community Church in Rosemoor. The who's who of George, including Mayor Melvin Naik, were in attendance at this event. The event saw many gospel artists and community leaders being awarded in different categories. According to the award organiser, Andile Xelegu, the awards honour local artists, businessme­n and women, church leaders, non-government organisati­ons, teachers and other individual­s who continue to make a difference in people's lives. The winners of the awards are as follows: Song the Year - Luyanda Yonke

Best Female Artist - Nomzukisi Somathambo

Best Male Artist - Phakamile Petros Woman of the Year - Lucy Ngqoshani Man of the Year - Mr Scholtz of Conville Primary School

Best Street Promoter - Phakamile Petros

Best Community Radio Gospel Show -

Nomahlubi Msesi Radio Tygerberg Best Newcomer - Thembakazi Henge

Best Worship Artist - Debbie Willams Best AmaZion Church choir - CCAC ZION Best Clap and Tap group - Lejwe La Moteho Special Regional Award - Meita Leholo, Fikile Lubisi, Buto and Yolanda Vutela, Keith Ngesi.
