Motorists to endure traffic during military’s race
Traffic will be affected by the TransEnduro adventure racing event on Tuesday 4 December from 08:00.
No roads will be closed, but cyclists and runners will be escorted by traffic department officials.
Cyclists and runners will set off at 08:00 from St George's Square (Paddagat) in Courtenay Street, turn left into York Street, proceed the length of York, turn right onto the R102 (Airport Road) and will proceed to Mossel Bay.
The TransEnduro is a military tradition dating back to the 1980s in which students from the South African Military run, cycle and sail from Port Elizabeth to the Military Academy in Saldanha. The event is supported by student-based logistics and administration teams and is complemented by a strong community outreach programme and fundraising efforts in the towns they visit.
