Garden Route Mall se ‘openbare skande’
Pendelaar, George:
GO GEORGE notes the concerns of the complainant and wishes to comment as follows:
Outside the Garden Route Mall there are six stops (indented bays) for GO GEORGE buses. It should be noted that this area is currently functioning as a transfer point.
Regarding the shelters, of the six GO GEORGE bus stops at the Garden Route Mall, three currently have shelters with some seating.
GO GEORGE notes the passenger’s concern regarding toilet facilities. GO GEORGE has been implemented as an infrastructure-light model and as such it has always been planned to further develop certain key transfer points with facilities such as toilets, as soon as all phases have rolled out and budget allows. With this approach, GO GEORGE can ensure that the toiletgeriewe by hierdie plek nie - dit is ‘n oopte.
General Manager Garden Route Mall, Rion Olivier:
Since the inception of GO GEORGE many taxi routes were cancelled, according to our knowledge those that remain are Lawaaikamp, Borcherds, Thembalethu, Pacaltsdorp and Wilderness. We have scheduled a meeting with Mr Donovan Saptoe (traffic head) next week to follow up on the latest status quo, which will include an action plan for our traffic flow over the December school holidays. Please note the GO GEORGE area at the Garden Route Mall currently has portable toilets as well as seating areas in place. The area where the taxis currently park has been earmarked for parking bays in the future and is not a formal taxi rank.
