Historic first for South Africa at Martial Arts Olympics
A South African team recently attended the World Karate and Kobudo Tournament for the first time. Martial Arts South Africa (Masa) awarded the team Presidential colours to represent South Africa at this prestigious event, which is also known as the Okinawa Martial Arts Olympics, in Naha City in Japan. The Ryukyu Kobudo team members are, from left: Kamal Hamdulay (manager), Amanda Rosser, Betsie le Grange (coach), Jannie le Grange, Stefan Coetzee, Ernie Hayter and Karin Fouché.
