Cheers to a wonderful festive season

Another year has passed, too quickly I would say. A warm welcome to all our visitors, hope you create beautiful memories and moments in and around our lovely town.

I would also like to wish our readers and advertisers a blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

This happens to be my favourite time of the year. The special time with family and friends is something money can’t buy and no present under the Christmas tree can match. It is a time to be truly thankful. And let’s not forget that it is a time to celebrate Christ’s birth. If you give, give not only to those close to you, think of those less fortunate.

For me this year has seen some highs and a few lows. I’m thankful to still be standing, have my family and friends, enjoy good health and am grateful for all the blessings I receive. On my birthday in September I again made my “New Year’s resolution” that I would be thankful for anything, big and small. If you’ve had a good year, cheers to you! If you had a bad one, may 2019 only be better!

Ps. Over this last long weekend more than 37 people died on our roads in the Western Cape, among them several children. Please travel safely wherever you go. Remember, patience is key. If you do not have patience, get an earlier start.
