Edelweiss dentistry now in George

-

It was with great excitement and high expectations that Dr Loudine van Wyk welcomed Dr Stephan Lampl from Austria at Scholtz-and-Williams Dental Practice in George. Dr Lampl has taken the world by storm with his state-of-the-art, minimally invasive direct composite veneers. Dr Van Wyk, who is currently completing her PDD in Aesthetic Dentistry, said it was a privilege to work with Dr Lampl. Together they completed a full mouth rehabilitation and smile make-over for her patient, Geoffrey Warner.

Dr Loudine van Wyk said, "I am a firm believer in a minimally invasive approach to my dentistry where applicable. Minimal invasive dentistry techniques promote the use of available healthy tooth structure. Treatment must be based on scientific principles and knowledge. The main advantage of minimal invasive dentistry is that healthy tooth structure is not removed to accommodate specific restorations or techniques. My aim at the end of treatment is to ensure that all patients under my care have healthy teeth, gums, improved aesthetics and function, using the latest innovative scientific techniques. An example of minimal invasive dentistry can be viewed together with this article with the use of Edelweiss composite veneers for the treatment of erosion lesions.”

Dr Van Wyk, who has also completed her PDD in Paediatric Dentistry, said that Edelweiss children's crowns are also now available. These crowns imitate natural milk teeth perfectly in form and function.
