Simply timeless with That’s Linen
Elegance and simplicity wrap around you the moment you enter the sliding door to That's Linen at 96 York Street. Their product range, which includes towels, blankets, curtains, throws and bed linen, is stacked in neat towers. Earthy colours and the soft, yet strong feeling of Egyptian cotton and percale leave a lasting impression when you slip the material through your fingers.
"As linen experts our expertise starts from the cotton yarn, right through to the products on our shelves," says owner Paul Odendaal. He moved to George with his family three years ago and started a retail outlet for That's Linen in York Street, sharing premises with Third Generation. In November last year That's Linen moved to new premises in the same street block, just a tad further down the street.
That's Linen started out as a business idea shared by two friends, one an expert in marketing and sales, the other a business professional. "For the first six months, back in 2013, we launched our business from a garage in Pretoria. From there we moved to a house, and now, five years later, we run a head office in Pretoria, retail shop in George and our production factory in Durban and have a staff complement of 30 people," says Odendaal.
The raw materials are imported from leading mills around the world, with all finishing and manufacturing taking place in South Africa. "We are proudly South African. Job creation and the employment of local people form a strong pillar within the business," says Odendaal. "We will definitely expand, grow and create more job opportunities. We hope to open another distribution warehouse in George and retail shops in Cape Town, as we grow as a business."
