Dotsure feeds over 100 animals
On Saturday 9 March, a group of representatives from dotsure.co.za, a leading pet insurance provider in South Africa, donated and delivered a load of pet food to the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA). This generous initiative was driven by the passionate animal-loving staff, who set themselves the challenge of collecting as much pet food as possible in order to assist the Garden Route SPCA with the immense task of feeding over 130 dogs and cats.
The dotsure.co.za team not only delivered the donations but also devoted some of their time to giving the pets some muchappreciated attention and cuddles.
Heather Church, a management committee member of the SPCA, said, "The dotsure. co.za team is fantastic and a wonderful group of people!".
Church said there is a total of 120 kennels, each of which can home two to three animals.
"We need approximately 150kg of food to feed the animals over a weekend. For this reason, we always welcome any food donations with open arms (and paws)."
Church said in addition to the GRSPCA's desperate need for food donations, they also need the community's assistance with the renovation of playpens, kennel maintenance and other important items on their wish list.
Georgians with generous hearts can drop off food and wish list items at the SPCA charity shop at York Mall Arcade, 100 York Street, between 09:00 and 17:00 Mondays to Fridays, or from 9:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. David Roache, managing director of dotsure. co.za. said they would match all food and monetary donations made by the public with R10 000 during April.
The GRSPCA wish list is: cat and dog food, dog leads and collars, dog kennels, blankets, towels, plastic dog or cat carrier and transport cages, cat-traps (to catch feral cats), catch-poles, toys for cats and dogs, horseboxes, a large capacity washing machine, and gates and fencing wire.
