Cook like a chef for Cansa

- Wessel van Heerden

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought all fundraising activities for Cansa and cancer victims to a halt. According to Adri Odendaal, community mobiliser for fund development in the Southern Cape Karoo Region of Cansa, this is a big blow to the organisation, which forced Cansa to think of new strategies to raise funds.

On being approached, celebrity chef and cancer survivor François Ferreira immediately agreed to sell some top cooking classes with all the profits going to Cansa. Ferreira is the owner of a culinary school, the François Ferreira Academy, in George. George Herald came on board as media sponsor and the video was recorded and edited by staff member Wessel van Heerden.

The classes will show you how to create a five-star meal at home under the tutorship of chef par excellence, the fabulous François Ferreira. For only R200 you will receive the link to Chef François' step-bystep classes that will enable you to create three mouth-watering, highly nutritious dishes. The dishes you will learn to make in the first class are beef, coffee and date tagine as mains, a chunky brown lentil and pumpkin soup and a nutritious couscous salad.

Lockdown is the ideal time to share these dishes with your family or lockdown partners while also making a difference in the lives of cancer patients.

All you need to do to get the download link for this course is to make a donation of R200 to: Cansa, ABSA Bank, 9062416313, and e-mail the proof of payment to aodendaal@cansa.org.za. As reference, use "your name/FFGE".
