Frost returns to Knysna
KNYSNA - Popular South African blues-rock artist Albert Frost is returning to Knysna, as events organisers Better Live attempt to blow life into live performances here.
Under previous lockdown levels, live performances were off the cards, but last week PJ Powers returned to Knysna, and next week it's Albert Frost's turn. For the past two decades the energetic performances of the Sama-award winning guitarist / singer has captured audiences here and abroad. Now a favourite on the South African live circuit, Frost deftly alternates between rhythm and lead, showcasing his extraordinary skills on both acoustic and electric guitars. His first love is the blues, stemming from the influence of his long relationship with the Blues Broers, a well-known Cape Town group with whom he has performed since 1994 at the age of 17.
Frost, who has performed with Finley Quaye and toured with R.E.M. and
Simple Minds, returns to Knysna for what is sure to be another fine performance - and to promote his new tracks. Among them is his latest single,
I'm still here - a high-energy rock tune about surviving life making music. It is "a celebration of passion for what we do, an affirmation of purpose. A promise to keep believing and doing what we do, no matter what, and keeping the spirit alive by giving it all," says Frost.
Frost will be performing at Blend Country Restaurant in Knysna on Friday 26 February from 19:00. Tickets are available at www.quicket.co.za, or from Blend. Pre-booking is essential as tickets are limited. All Covid-19 precautions are in
place. – Supplied, Better Live
