- Zama Gagu

Three Grade 10 learners of

Jonga High School starred at the Eden and Central Karoo Regional Science Expo final which was held at Outeniqua High School recently. Sisipho Skhotha (gold), Kamvalethu Njende (silver) and Sanele Maki (bronze) received medals for their projects.

Two of them also won Special Awards, for which they received cheque vouchers.

They are Sisipho Skhotha:

Best development project (SOC psychology, sport psychology), and Kamvalethu Njende: Best Agricultural Science Project (Reduction of water consumption in tomatoes).

According to their science teachers, Siphosande Mantangane and Siyamthanda Witbooi, this was the perfect platform for the learners to showcase their science and innovation research projects. Learners who advance will be taking part in the International Science Fair (ISF) in December, competing against other young scientists around the country for great prizes that include bursaries and scholarships.
