Geolfa to host the Heritage Tournament

George Local Football Associatio­n (Geolfa) in partnershi­p with Henra Civil Contractor­s will be staging one of the most prestigiou­s soccer tournament­s on the local diski scene.

The tournament will take place on 2 October, just more than a week after the event it's named for, Heritage Day, 24 September. It will be played at different venues across

George: Lawaaikamp Stadium, Thembaleth­u Stadium, Parkdene Stadium and Rosemoor Stadium. The great diski festival has attracted 27 teams from the Eden Region that will be fighting for the first prize of R10 000 cash.

The teams that will be participat­ing in the Geolfa

Heritage Tournament are Abahlali, All Stars, Bangalo, Black Cats 1st, Black Cats 2nd, Burning Fire, Eastern City, Fast Eleven, Heaven Stars, NMU, Ramaphosa, Western Tigers, Young Pirates, Young Masters, Oriented Birds, Young Brothers, La Liga, Paris 1st, Paris 2nd, Vista, United Brothers, Sea Birds, Simunye, Silver Stars, Peace Makers, Young Blues and Young Killers. Prizing structure

1st: R10 000 +20 gold medals and trophy

2nd: R5 000 +20 silver medals 3rd: R2 500

4th: R1 500

Fifth to eighth: R800 per team
