Guests ‘shine like stars’ at Options banquet
Youth for Christ's Options Care Centre hosted its annual fundraising banquet at Fancourt on Thursday 21 September. More than 200 guests enjoyed a very special evening in the banqueting hall, beautifully decorated for the theme "Shine like stars".
The evening's master of ceremonies, Jean du Plessis, did a great job of helping the guests relax and enjoy the evening. After a delicious dinner, Options presented a programme which included new videos by Adin Walls of Web Brew, and interviews with four people who shared their inspiring stories of how Options has helped them. Laurie Edwall, the director, shared information about Options, Deon Plaatjies sang beautifully and Merwe Erasmus, a volunteer counsellor, challenged guests to partner with Options financially. Dave and Gill Hooper closed the programme with prayer.
Options Care Centre has been operating for 26 years and its focus is on impacting and developing youth and families who face a pregnancy or an HIV crisis. Their team of staff and volunteers offers counselling, information, lots of support and care, and empowering projects for people from all communities in George and the surrounding areas. They regularly facilitate training
courses and workshops. The schools team loves connecting with youth to open up conversations about important core issues. All of Options' services are free of charge and all of the banquet income will go towards their running costs.
The new ten-minute video created for the banquet is available to watch at www. optionssupport.co.za and the website makes it easy to donate through various giving options. Every donation makes a difference and will help them reach their goal.

Edwall thanked the banquet sponsors and
the businesses that donated to help make the event a success. "We would also like to thank the table hosts and every guest who gave and pledged on the evening, as well as our partners who already support us financially and help stock the pantry with new and second-hand items to assist clients with practical needs," she said.
