Plenty of support for emergency personnel

-

Ongoing public support has been received through generous donations and many volunteers came forward to assist at the tent where eats and refreshments were made available for rescue teams.

The non-profit organisations Gift of the Givers and Love George have been on site since Monday to set up a point where donations can be dropped off. A prayer vigil was also held during the week.

How can you help?

George Municipality provided details of how the public can provide support for the multi-disciplinary emergency personnel through donations.

Should any member of the public wish to provide safety goggles, headlamps, clipboards, safety gloves, drinking water, energy drinks, wine gums or food for the emergency services while they are on site, then kindly deliver it to the tent site located at 79 Victoria Street, in front of Delplan Consulting which is being manned by Gift of the Givers and Herman Pienaar of Love George and will remain operational throughout the rescue period.

Please contact the Gift of the Givers: Mario Ferreira (082 490 2752) and Love George: Herman Pienaar (082 829 6428) in this regard.

Safety equipment including helmets, safety goggles, clipboards, headlamps, and construction gloves are needed. If anyone can assist, please deliver to GRDM Fire Station, Pearl Road, Tamsui Industria.

There have been enquiries from the public about financial donations.
