Total South Africa celebrates a 60-year Partnership with South African National Parks

2018 marks the 60th year of Total South Africa and South African National Parks’ partnership.

The partnership has seen Total South Africa not only establishing and operating 21 service stations but, over the years, Total has also contributed extensively to several environmental projects at South African National Parks (SANParks), such as sponsorship of the Kudu Awards and SA National Parks Week.

To celebrate the 60-year partnership, Total South Africa and SANParks have a line-up of exciting activities planned over the course of this year, including one-week free access to visit and experience the wild side of life at a national park of their choice (excluding Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park and Namaqua National Park).

“Total South Africa is proud of this partnership and will continuously aim to raise awareness around environmental stewardship. As a responsible energy major, Total continues to play a role in environmental conservation. Construction is currently underway to convert our service stations to run on solar power and later this year, the rst two solarised service stations in the Kruger National Park will be inaugurated” said Pierre-Yves Sachet, Total South Africa’s CEO and Managing Director.

“Our partnership with Total South Africa over the last 60 years has been a mutually bene cial one. Total South Africa has been delivering reliable support since 1958, when they won their rst contract for the Kruger National Park. We are especially excited about the solarised service stations and are proud to be part of a team that contributes towards South Africa’s economy.“says Fundisile Mketeni, SANParks CEO.

Total South Africa and SANParks look forward to the next 60 years of partnership and are excited to continue promoting the country’s natural features and celebrate heroes who contribute to the wellness and sustainability of the country, and its economy.
