A little nostalgia

In the early 1950s Something Good was known as the Bird Rock Roadhouse. There was also the Red Windmill, SugarBush/Casbah and Sundowners roadhouses – all demolished, except this one. ‘Out of our love for the local surfing community, combined with fond memories of growing up in Summerstrand, our team came together in 2013 to bring the old roadhouse back to life. It still has a feeling of the iconic landmark of yesteryear – we have wonderful old photos on display that give a glimpse of the rich surf culture of the bay. To keep up with the times, we’ve also added a sit-down restaurant and bar area and an ice-cream parlour. But, yes, you can still park your car and flick your lights for service if you want takeaways.’
