Writing on the walls

Growing up in the Eastern Cape, Buntu Fihla (@bief37) says it’s the region’s rich history and culture that has inspired his love of art and photography. The graffiti artist and photographer’s work can be seen all over the province. He was born and raised in the small town of Phakamisa, but currently calls Gqeberha home. ‘My photography and graffiti work go hand in hand, and then I do a bit of graphic design on the side. So it’s a good blend of a bit of everything.’

He says of the trip: ‘It was an unbelievable time. What we’ve seen and done, it’s extraordinary. But the exploring doesn’t end here. We owe it to ourselves to keep feeding that curiosity.’
