Ronald Reeves is one of Kouga’s trailmad runners, and you’re bound to bump into him on any given mountain ultra-run (and most definitely at the post-race bar if there are a few free beers doing the rounds). He’s a construction electrician when he needs to make some money, and says, ‘Bru, deep down I’m just a modern-day pirate, brimming with the love for running in the bush and mountains.’ He says some of his runs can go on for days (‘like the 27 hours I spent on the trail finishing the Addo 100 Miler!’). He lives in Crossways, with the 3Rivers

Trails right on his doorstep, and Baviaanskloof a couple of hours away.
