Any rising musician who can get celebs like Kendall and Kylie Jenner and Tyga to attend his or her show must have some stellar ability. Such is the case for singing sensation Justine Skye, 20, whose headlining performance at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles last December drew a seriously star-studded crowd. “The girl is genuinely talented and just so cool. Her voice is the sickest thing I’ve ever heard,” exclaims Kendall, who also happens to be her close friend. “I’m not even biased right now – she’s dope.” Atlantic Records thought so too when they signed Justine in 2013 after hearing her display her vocal chops on Youtube and Tumblr. “I’ve released EPS since then,” says the chanteuse, who has collaborated with Tyga and Vic Mensa, and is now working on her first album. Although Justine declares she’s still discovering who she is as an artist, the constant vibe on all of her tracks thus far has been a medley of R&B, hip hop, reggae and pop sounds – topped o“ with powerful vocals that nail slow jams as well as upbeat dance grooves. Rock on! This year’s Coachella and Rocking the Daisies-inspired trend: hair jewellery. Already spotted on Rihanna, Rita Ora and street-style stars everywhere, pretty hair adornments have a way of making everyone look like a delightful woodland nymph. The trick is to keep it casual, so don’t over-style your hair; you don’t want to look too bridal or like you’re going to a kid’s birthday party.
