My skincare essential I need a good makeup remover, as I wear a lot of makeup for work, and I’m strict about taking it all o before bed – no matter how late it is or how exhausted I feel.

My culinary inspirations When it comes to chefs, I’ve always admired Chris Erasmus, Chantel Dartnall, Margot Janse, Dorah Sithole, Jamie Oliver, Rachel Khoo and Nigella Lawson. My movie classic I could watch the 1997 Cinderella with Brandy Norwood as Cinders and Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother every day, and I’ve been searching for the DVD for years.

My shero Oprah Winfrey is my ultimate TV icon. I love that woman and dream of meeting her one day.

My current jam I’m loving Shekhinah’s latest album Rose Gold and Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods. My handbag essentials You’ll always find a wallet, sunglasses, Labello lip balm, a Chinese hand fan (I get hot really quickly) and business cards in my handbag. My go-to dish It has to be pasta: the quick and easy meal fix.

My scent Depending on the mood, I tend to rotate between three great fragrances: Thierry Mugler Womanity (R1 250), Chloé Love Story (R1 655) and Dior Miss Dior (R2 220). My beauty hero A great mascara is a must, especially for days when I can’t be bothered with a full face of makeup. The right mascara can make you look and feel instantly fabulous. My binge watch Viola Davis knocks it out the park as the character Annalise Keating in How to Get Away with Murder, but I need to do a serious catch up; I’m only halfway through the second season. No spoilers, please!

My shopping hotspot I love The Watershed, at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront, for its great local brands, shops and stalls.
