Celeb makeup artist Sir John gives us the low-down on his exclusive collab with Woolworths.

THE RANGE

This is the first contribution I’ve given to the beauty community. Everyone in the US was like why aren’t you dropping products here first? But SA speaks to me in a way no other place does. When I’m here I just feel energy. I connect with the women here like I don’t connect with anyone else.

HOW IT STARTED

The head of Woolworths recognised me on a Joan Smalls shoot. They felt like I spoke to the audience in a way no one else did. What’s important to me is to have a connection with a consumer first, not to make money. And Woolworths has already established that connection with consumers.

VEGAN -INSPIRED

When I say vegan, I mean crueltyfree. It means that when we do use a glitter or biochemical, it can dissipate and not have any negative a€ffects on the environment. If you think about it, when we get makeup products we always just chuck away the boxes. We wanted to do something to minimise our carbon footprint.
