SHINY LOCKS
How to achieve Imbue Curls ambassador Boitumelo Nxumalo’s winter hair care routine.
WHAT DOES YOUR WASHDAY ENTAIL?
STEP 1 – CLEANSE: I make sure my hair is super-hydrated during winter by pre-pooing with Imbue Curl Worshipping Shine Oil, especially on my ends, a nutrientrich blend of plant oils you can also apply to damp hair to seal in moisture and protect it from harsh weather. I cover it with a plastic cap for an hour, then cleanse with Imbue Curl Liberating Shampoo, which nourishes and cleanses hair.
STEP 2 – CONDITION:CURLY hair thrives on moisture, particularly for me, as I have colour-treated, naturally curly hair. We all know bleaching our hair dries it out, but I don’t have to worry about that because I use Imbue Curl Respecting Conditioner to detangle my hair and give it extra nourishment. I also use Imbue Curl Restoring Intensive Mask, which I leave for about 30 minutes covered with a deep-conditioning plastic cap. It leaves my hair feeling hydrated, penetrates my hair cuticles and denes my curls.
After you shampoo and condition your hair, the next thing to apply is a leave-in conditioner, which stays in your hair until your next washday. But that also depends on what you plan on doing with your hair after cleansing and conditioning. Technique is crucial when it comes to this step of your winter hair-care routine.
STEP 3 – CURL: I use Imbue Curl Inspiring Conditioning Leave In Spray to keep my protective styles moisturised and nourished during winter. But if I want to style my hair, Imbue Curl Empowering Crème Gel is my girl!
STEP 4 – FINISH: I follow that with Imbue Curl Energising Hydration Serum, which is lightweight and helps my hair retain moisture.
