Meet the TEAM

Our Art Director, Nosipho Ngqula, shares some of her favourite things

-

What made you decide to venture into graphic design and creative direction?

It all developed from my love for ne art. I wanted to express myself in a form of visuals and I found graphic design to be a great tool and was drawn to it.

What do you enjoy most about being in the magazine industry?

Creating an issue from beginning to end and the pressure that comes with it – it puries my ability as a designer and pushes me to do more.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Having the freedom to be creative on paper, creating something out of nothing and capturering the reader’s attention. Every issue drives me to create something better and it also broadens my knowledge.

Your greatest career achievement?

Becoming Glamour South Africa’s Art Director. Words cannot explain the gratitude I have for this achievement. I fell in love with the title and becoming an art director is just cherry on top.

What do you still hope to accomplish?

To be the best at what I do and venture into other avenues that are design-related, especially digital.

A perfect date for you would include?

Outdoor dining on a beautiful summer evening with a beautiful view of the sea followed by a walk. I am a sucker for sea breeze.

A song that’s on repeat on your playlist?

‘Chain Breaker’ by Gaither Vocal Band. This song gives solutions to every problem, hope for every situation, and that there’s a greater power that can break the chains that bind us.

The last movie that left you speechless.

The Woman King. I loved how they illustrated the great power of a woman, mentally, socially and emotionally and the remarkable resilience of women.

Three things you can’t live without?

God – He kept me standing while there was nothing to stand on. My children – the most precious gift from God. My family – the support and love I get from them is amazing

Something you love to indulge in?

Cashew nuts. They taste good and they are healthy.
