These control points might have two stop signs – stop at both and proceed only when the official waves you along. Your vehicle might be searched, usually only when you leave an area in the north of the country with foot-and-mouth disease, like when you’re travelling south from Kasane to Nata or east from Maun to Gweta. Meat, vegetables, fruit and dairy are sometimes confiscated.
