SWEET, SWEET WATER

Go! Camp & Drive - - News - ASA BESSLEY Mitchels Plain

After 34 years our family decided to go camp at Soetwater close to Kommetjie again. We managed to fit all our camping gear into two cars and two bakkies and we drove the beautiful coastal road past Scarborough to Soetwater. When we arrived, the guys had to hustle to pitch the tents while my friend Nazeem Hendricks got the fires going. After the braai the conversation kept going and we eventually finished all the wood. The next morning we had to buy more and I also bought a great tree stump next to the road for R10 to keep the fire burning for even longer. Back at Soetwater we saw a diverse crowd of campers who had all come to relax next to the water. In the one corner was a group of bikers and on the opposite side, nuns. We were going to stay till the Monday because it was a long weekend but then we heard rain was coming so we packed up and left a day early. We enjoyed it so much we’ve booked again.
