FROM TRAILER TO CAMPING TRAILER

-

Michael Paine from Brakpan has just the answer for people with small trailers who want to camp. Michael modified the Venter Super 6 trailer so that you can sleep inside.

If you stand behind the Ezi Camp trailer, the lid opens up 90° while the canvas sections that are fastened to it fold open into a room above the trailer’s body. Poles fit into the corners to stretch the canvas over the Venter. Two pipe corner steadies lower at the back to keep the trailer sturdy while you climb in at the back by means of a loose step. The bed, which takes up the entire floor surface inside, is not directly on the ground but lifts to create packing space underneath. The closest section of the bed lifts up so that you can access the packing space. This is also where you get dressed inside. A rectangular 3,6 x 3 m roof stretches over the trailer and is kept in place with poles and anchor ropes. Three panels also fit onto the roof around the sides of the trailer for more privacy. The nosecone remains and a cooler box fits in easily. “I’m 70 years old and I’ve been camping with caravans my whole life, but it has become a bit too much for me,” explains Michael. “All you need is a small, cheap and light trailer to camp.” Michael also does the modifications for people who supply their own trailers. Price R29 990 (with a new Venter Super 6 trailer), R16 500 (if you supply the trailer), and R4 000 for the three tent side panels.
