Jurgens takes the crown (at Tshipise)

- JAN EN PETRO VAN ZYL Reitz Jan has just been appointed the new chairman of the Swaeltjies. – Ed.

For the last five years we’ve been camping at Foreve’s Tshipise Resort, and also belong to the Swaeltjies ( a collective name for long-stay campers – Ed). Just for fun, ever since 2015, we’ve done a count of all the caravans there (except in 2017). If you look at our numbers, you can draw some interesting conclusions. Compared to 2015, the number of caravans decreased by 6% in the following year. The happy news is that it grew by a total of 292 (or 14%) this year (8% more than in 2015). It shows a healthy increase in people who come to camp. As in previous years, the vast majority of caravans were Jurgens Ci’s. If you take the three brands Sprite, Gypsey and Jurgens, these three together have no less than a 75% share of this year’s statistics, of which 53% were Jurgens. It is therefore not surprising that the most popular caravan is the Jurgens Exclusive, with the Penta in second place. The most popular Gypsey is the Regal, and it’s the Swing for Sprite. As far as other conventional caravans are concerned, this year there were also five from Sensation and seven from Wilk.
