The Icelandic camper-van rental company Happy Campers, focusing on smaller motorhomes that are also more suitable for younger tourists, has opened a branch in Somerset West. Currently, you can hire a Nissan NV200 for R850-R1 150 pd (depending on the season). The NV200 is set up for two people and includes a gas stove, 4 gas cylinders, a cooler/ refrigerator, a sink with running water, cutlery and crockery, and bedding. The Fiat Ducato is an option for up to five people and costs R1 550-R1 850 pd. The Ducato’s facilities are similar to those of the NV200. Camping chairs (R50), sleeping bags (R250), camping tables (R100) and extra gas cylinders (R40) must be rented separately in a once-off payment.
