BRINK INVESTS IN EVEN MORE TECHNOLOGY

-

The Brink Towing Systems plant in Pietermaritzburg already uses computer-driven welding machines, but has now improved their ability with a twin six-axis welding robot. How does it work? The Motoman MA arc welding machine is a Yaskawa product and can move on six axles, which improves production time by 30%. The welding machine costs R2,7 million; and, says managing director Mark Gutridge, as far as he knows it’s the only one of its kind in the country with this configuration. The plant has the capacity to manufacture 100 000 tow bars per annum, and has been approved by 90% of our local vehicle manufacturers.
