SIZING UP

From the raw materials department the rolls of material are sent to the cutting room. The job sheet includes a cutting list, so the personnel in that department know exactly how many sheets to put under the guillotine for the straight edges and cuts, or under the knife for more detailed edges. They’re also guided by specific patterns for each item, so the shapes cut are always correct. From a roll the staff cut the material in sections, so there’s minimal wastage.
