Drive & Camp says If you and the black bass are still duelling, the kids won’t be bored. On most Saturdays, there is a tractor with a trailer that takes the kids on a game drive where they can see anything from kudu and zebra to black impala and blue wildebeest.

away from the other stands. There’s enough space for four families, and even though it is a bush camp, there are three power points (the blue plug type). In addition, this camp has its own modern ablution block that blends neatly with the surroundings and consists of a shower, toilet and wash basin.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

Leon says they have owned the land and lodge, which is barely 100 meters from the campsite, for several years. “It has always been our dream to develop a luxury campsite like the one you see here today. Right from the start, the focus was on indulgence. We know campers are particular about bathrooms, and your resort gets judged on that as well.” Leon and Meléne are themselves campers, and so they know what they would expect.

The name, “Bass Lake,” does not seem to have much to do with camping. But Leon explains many campers also like fishing and they added black bass and breams to the dam. Just remember, the fish should be returned to the water after you catch it.
