Do I need to take a compressor? No, you can use theirs.

Can I braai along the way? No.

Can I turn around halfway? Yes.

Is there cellphone signal? Not everywhere, but it’s decent at the top of the mountain.

Best time to go? All year.

Can I take my family? Yes, definitely. Just for the day or weekend? At least a weekend.

Are there ablution facilities? Yes. Directions Head north on the N7 from Cape Town – about 8 km before Piketberg (shortly after crossing the Berg River) turn left on the R399 to Velddrif and after 4 km turn left again to stay on the R399. Drive 24 km and turn right onto Aurora and then right again after 2,3 km. Turn left into Kloof Street and follow the road for 18 km before turning again. After 5 km, you’ve arrived at the entrance.
