Go! Drive & Camp

Where is what?

-

The aisle is 46 cm wide and extends 1,76 m in front of you, and on either side is a 40 ℓ fridge/freezer that pulls out on a sliding frame – it’s easy to reach from the outside, although you can slide out only one at a time. (A fully equipped Obiqua comes with just one fridge/freezer, but there is room for two.)

A large open cupboard in which you can keep a cassette toilet is next to the left fridge/ freezer; next to the opposite one is an open cupboard in which two ammo boxes fit on top of each other. Above each fridge/ freezer is a flat shelf as wide as your hand with a canvas door that zips shut. Here you can store quite a few plastic containers with your groceries.

Above this shelf on the left are three cupboards, also with canvas flaps – these are for clothes. On the other side is another open shelf with the switches for the lights, water pump, fridge next to it. Here you’ll also find two USB ports and a Hella socket with a screen that shows the battery charge.

The top of each side is a flat surface where you can place stuff – with a sunken vanity basin on the right-hand side – and at the end of each is a bench with a pillow. When you lift the pillow, there is storage space below each for linen or more groceries.

At the end of the aisle, sideways across the hull, is another shelf with four open shelves side by side, each the size of a shoe box – just perfect for items like a hair dryer. Next to the left bench is a two- and three-prong power point plus a USB port. The mirror is mounted on the ridge panel next to you.

Each bed is 94,5 cm wide, which is not quite double-bed size. But André came up with another clever plan: Next to the bed is a hidden loose panel that you lift and fit next to the bed, widening each bed by 24,5 cm.

The bed’s surface is 1,14 m above the floor, which means you have to climb to get into bed. Of course, you can step on the benches, but less flexible people will struggle. Because of the layout, the person who sleeps at the far end must get in first (both beds).
