Step inside

The inside of the tent with its high roof (2,5 m) and large floor (1,7 x 2,1 m) feels roomy. The solid floor, reinforced at the bottom with aluminium square tubing, has a heavy-duty covering that feels more like a caravan than a tent.

Inside, the tent is divided into two sections of equal size: the dressing area as you enter, and the bedroom to the left towards the front of the trailer. The dressing area has plenty of room to move around in and there is even room for a small chest or table to use as storage space. The doors on either side and to the back of the dressing room has flaps that can zip open fully – this is true of the mosquito net, too.

Use the fold-out step at the foot to climb into bed. The lid of the cupboard in which the poles are stored sits just above the step and is strong enough to serve as a second step – it even has a rubber cover so you don’t slip.

You’ll find the storage space in the cupboard under the bed, and you need to lift the bed base when you want to get to something in there. On either side of this space, just behind the wheel arches, there are two small holes for storing cables, extension cords and tent pegs.

The two deep-cycle batteries also sit here. The power box with a three- and a two-point plug, battery meter and switches for the lights, water pump and solar panels is on the right-hand side of the foot of the bed – easy to reach it you want to charge your phone or check to see how much is left in the battery.

The bed (2 x 1,52 m) boasts a king-sized high-density foam mattress and covers the entire width of the trailer. On both sides of the bed and at the head are windows with mosquito nets – these can also zip open. The skylight allows airflow, but the roof will banish any thoughts of stargazing from the bed.

Between the mattress and the wall is a narrow space where you can place a book and cellphone. You can decide whether the LED at the top of the middle frame should be yellow or red.
